I was born in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada in early December 1970 to my parents Brian V. and Laverna. I was their second child and a second son. My sibs are James Sullivan, Catharine Fairchild, and Christina Sullivan

Shortly before my birth my dad had a promising position with Deere and Company: a corporation commonly known as John Deere. At that time his heart was being pulled in two directions. He was faced with a choice that was not easy. The longer I live, the more I respect and appreciate his decision. He was called to the head office of the company and offered a great promotion, well all the while; he knew that he wanted to go preaching the gospel.

Through prayerful consideration Dad turned down his advancing career and set out to preach. His first work found him in Glencoe, Ontario, Canada and it was there that I was born at the nearest hospital: Strathroy.

I was born anew in May of 1981, early in life, but certainly the knowledge of my relationship with God was well in place.

Looking back through my files I have discovered that my first sermon was presented the day after my thirteenth birthday in 1983. It was five pages of outline and seven minutes of the most nerve wracking  “preaching” ever experienced in my life. There was a large gap in between my first sermon and the growing desire to take on a life dedicated to proclaiming God’s word.

My first full time work was with the brethren at Glencoe, Ontario in 1995 and there I spent nearly three years working and growing. My next move found my out of my own country and away from my roots. I was now in the small southern Indiana town of Shoals, The town is nestled along US highway 50 where it crosses the East Fork of the White River for the first time if you are heading west. It is in Shoals that my life took on new meaning as Jenny and I were wed and we began our life together as husband and wife.

In 2000 we found ourselves being called closer to the north again. The elders at Norwalk, Ohio called and invited us to consider joining in the work in Norwalk. The group welcomed us and flourished right from the start. Many studies led to many baptisms and many restorations. The zeal was building and the numbers too. We continued to work with this loving group until 2005 when we made the decision to let someone else take it beyond our accomplishments. In Norwalk our family expanded with the birth of our beautiful daughter Haylee Nicole (now a witty and funny five year old).

We moved again, at the invitation of the elders in Newbern, Tennessee, early November 2005. The first time for this Canadian to be so far from home and family. We are excited about the things that will be accomplished in Newbern for the glory of God our Creator.  Now in Tennessee Jenny and I have expanded our family with the arrival of our son: Timothy Hayden Sullivan (T. Hayden Sullivan) was born March 17, 2006.

I preach because I have been told that I do well at preaching.  I preach because my life is the Lord's and the harvest lacks skilled workers. I preach because there is only one message that can save the souls of mankind (Acts 4:12; Romans 1:16) and not enough men are sounding that message out to the world that are drowning in sin.

If I had one last sermon to preach I would begin where we began: Our Almighty Creator has created us with a purpose (Acts 17:24-26). His intention for our lives is that we should use our freedom of choice to choose Him (Acts 17:27). I would declare that God loves every one of us so much that He was willing to see His Son Jesus Christ killed for us (John 3:16; Romans 5:6-8). I would also declare that beautiful place called Heaven (John 14:1-6; Revelation 21:10-27) and teach that God expects us to do something in order to enter that place (Matthew 7:21). I would finish my sermon with the wonderful words of invitation and hope that those in attendance would be moved to faith. If I had one last sermon to preach I would preach the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Romans 1:16).
